EthosCE provides a feature to require users to opt-in to your terms of use. When a terms of use statement is present, learners will be prevented from logging in or creating an account until it is accepted.

Users will not be able to opt-out on the user profile, so it is each customer's responsibility to provide an opt-out form for users.

You many find a sample terms of use statement in our user guide.

Important

The terms of use module will become active as soon as the Terms and Conditions of Use text is entered and saved. Do not save this text until ready to activate the feature! For compliance reasons, once enabled, this form cannot be disabled without a support ticket.

To enable the Terms and Conditions of Use feature:

  1. Click the wrench to open the admin menu.
  2. Click Administration > Configuration > People > Legal.
  3. Enter the terms and conditions of use text in the "Create New Version / Translation" field.
  4. Click "Display settings" and select the display style. We recommend HTML text.
  5. Click "Save." A preview of the text will appear at the top of the page.

Masquerade

Do not accept the terms of use for another user's account.
