Available in EthosCE 7.30.

Schema.org defines schemas for structured data on web pages. EthosCE uses the “Course” and “Event” schemas to provide structured data to Google and other search engines. This helps a search engine display an event, for example, in a calendar as shown below.

EthosCE populates the Course and Event schemas automatically using data from the course. A course administrator may override the settings if necessary.

The description used is taken from the “Summary” field. For best results, the summary field must contain an event description.

To update Course schema meta tags:

  1. Navigate to the course.

  2. Click “Edit.”

  3. Click “Publishing.”

  4. Click “Meta tags."

  5. Open the “Schema.org Course” section.

  6. Update fields as necessary.

To update Event schema meta tags:

  1. Navigate to the course.

  2. Click “Edit.”

  3. Click “Publishing.”

  4. Click “Meta tags."

  5. Open the “Schema.org Event” section.

  6. Update fields as necessary.
