Meta tags

Meta tags are used to provide descriptive information to search engines about the content of a web page. Meta tags may help improve the rankings and display of your site in search engine results.  

EthosCE pre-populates meta tags using the content of courses and sessions. to help make them easier to find on search engines.

In some cases, an administrator may opt to manually override the defaults provided by EthosCE. To do so, follow the instructions below.

To update basic meta tags:

  1. Navigate to the course.

  2. Click “Edit.”

  3. Click “Publishing.”

  4. Click “Meta tags."

  5. Open the “Basic tags” section.

  6. Update the page title, description, abstract and keywords as necessary.

To update advanced meta tags:

  1. Navigate to the course.

  2. Click “Edit.”

  3. Click “Publishing.”

  4. Click “Meta tags."

  5. Open the “Advanced tags” section.

  6. Updated the advanced fields as necessary.
