The purpose of this new standard is to ensure messages from trusted companies are delivered, while improving each carrier's ability to identify unwanted messages being sent through SMS channels. This adoption requires EthosCE to make changes to the accounts set up within Twilio for each client by EthosCEwith SMS phone numbers.
How does this affect my EthosCE instance?
Our SMS vendor, Twilio, will require that all accounts are registered with them to be assigned a trust score. EthosCE has already been approved as a trusted Independent Software Vendor and may now register our clients as secondary accounts. This update is an internal update only, within our vendor instance, and should have no visible change to end users, both admins and learners, other than improved message delivery performance.
What does registration require from me?
Registration requires contact information for an authorized individual with an SMS capable phone. The required fields are:
First name
Last name
Email
SMS-capable phone number
Billing address
This information will only be used by Twilio to reach appropriate personnel in the rare event that their the registered number is exhibiting odd sending behavior, requiring action by Twilio.
Is there a deadline? Will my SMS service be interrupted?
Twilio has informed providers that there is set an October 2021 deadline before the procedures are implemented. Though, for company registration and the implementation of the service. Twilio has informed us EthosCE that our accounts are not above below the threshold likely to see a significant negative impact if unregistered, however, we are planning to have all clients currently working towards having all client accounts updated by this deadline.
Will this affect how I am charged for my SMS services by

EthosCE?
No. All accounts under EthosCE do not meet the threshold requiring additional charges from our SMS vendor, nor , there are no additional charges from EthosCE. Falling below the Twilio heavy usage threshold keeps costs the same. Nor will there be a change in the way EthosCE will send invoices. Your current Current invoice schedule and procedures will remain.
