Webform templates allow site administrators to create a locked webform template that can only be cloned. The clone can be edited and used in courses without changing the original template.

Creating a webform template

Only users with the site admin role may create or edit a webform template.

  1. Click the “+ New” menu link. 

  2. Click “Webform template.

from a template (outside a course)

  1. Click the

    wrench to open the admin menu. Click the “Add content”

    “+ New” menu link.

     

  2. Click “Webform.” 

  3. Under the “Webform template” section, select a template. 

  4. Navigate to a course.

  5. Click on the Course Outline tab.

  6. Add a webform object.

  7. Before saving the outline click on the webform’s Settings link.

  8. Click the Content vertical tab.

  9. Click use template.

  10. Search for a template.

  11. Click the Update
  12. Click the “Save”

    button.

  3. Click the Edit instance link of the webform object.

  4. Select a webform template.
  5. Click the Save button.

Referencing a template while adding a course object

  1. Navigate to a course. 

  2. Click "COURSE OUTLINE." 

  3. Click the dropdown menu item "- select object -" and select “Webform.” 

  4. Click “Add object.” 

  5. Before saving the outline, click on the webform’s “Settings” link. 

  6. Click the “Content” vertical tab. 

  7. Check the “Use template” checkbox. 

  8. Search for a template by placing the cursor in the “Webform template” field and typing the first few characters of the template’s name. When the desired webform template appears in the list, click it.

     

    Upon save, the object will contain a clone of the original webform template and it can be modified without affecting the original.

  9.  Click the “Update” button. 

  10. Click the “Save outline” button.

Referencing a template after adding a webform course object

  1. Navigate to a course. 

  2. Click "COURSE OUTLINE." 

  3. Click the “Edit instance” link of the webform object. 

  4. Under the “Webform template” section select a template. 

  5. Click the “Save” button.
