Rule-based access restricts access to a specific course object based upon custom rules in the instance of EthosCE and the configurations set by the administrator.
- Navigate to the course.
- Click "COURSE OUTLINE."
- Click "Settings" on the row of the course object to edit.
- Click the "Access" tab on the left.
- Click "Rules"
- Under Rules, select a rule to apply conditions to.
- Click the "Modifications" tab below.
Custom rules
Please open a support ticket if a custom rule is needed. A nominal fee is charged for each rule.
Modification Options
Conditional modifications will dictate access for the learner based on the rule selected above. Modifications include:
- TRUE/FALSE: Select true or false based on how a system rule will be affected by the modifications. For example: A rule has been configured to check for learners with a custom profile field value. If learner has the identified profile field value, select TRUE, and all modifications will be applied to learners with the identified profile field. Select FALSE and it will apply to all learners without the identified profile field value.
- Block Access : Check the "Block access"checkbox to restrict eligible learners from accessing the course object.
- Required: Change the required course object configuration by selecting:
- No Change (retain existing settings)
- Make Required (the course object will become required for learners meeting the eligibility requirements)
- Make Optional (the course object will become optional for learners meeting the eligibility requirements)
- Visibility: Change the course outline visibility configuration by selecting:
- No Change (retain existing settings)
- Visible (the course object will become visible for learners meeting the eligibility requirements)
- Hidden (the course object will become hidden for learners meeting the eligibility requirements)
System rules must be configured on each instance of EthosCE. Please open a support ticket to create new system rules.
