Course Completion Message
The course completion message displays to a learner when they have successfully completed a course.
This is a great place to make the learner aware of related courses or resources, or to provide specific instructions for what to do next — such as downloading a certificate, or registering for a follow-up course.
Setting a Course Completion Message
Log in to your EthosCE site as an administrator.
Navigate to the course you want to edit.
Click the Edit tab at the top of the course page.
In the left-hand menu under Course description, click Course format & instructions.
Scroll down to locate the Course completion message text box.
Enter your message using the rich text editor. The editor supports full HTML formatting including bold, italic, links, and lists.
Click Save at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.
Tips for an Effective Completion Message
Acknowledge the learner's effort — A simple congratulatory note creates a positive experience.
Point to next steps — Link to related courses, resources, or post-course surveys.
Mention the certificate — Remind learners that a certificate is available on their transcript if applicable.
Note: The course completion message is only shown once the learner has met all completion requirements for the course. It will not appear for partially completed courses.
