Adding a Book

To add a book to a course:

  1. Navigate to the course.

  2. Click the "Course outline" tab.

  3. Select "Book" from the course object dropdown.

  4. Click the "Add object" button.

  5. Click the "Settings" link.

  6. Click "Book" in the left menu.

The next steps are setting the completion criteria for learners viewing the book:

  1. To require only one page to be viewed select "View any page" under "Completion criteria."

  2. To require all pages to be viewed select "View all pages" under "Completion criteria."

The final option is configuring the display options for how the book is displayed in the course menu to the learner. The following options are available:

  • All book pages as an expanded, nested list

  • Only the active book menu tree items, with a count indicator

  • A count indicator only

  1. Make the appropriate selections for your course and click "Update."

  2. Click the "Save outline" button.
