Grade-based access to Course Objects

Grade-based access restricts access to a course object based on a selected quiz or course grade. It can also be used to allow a required course object to become optional, for example, to allow a user to “test out” of a course object.

  1. Navigate to the course.

  2. Click "COURSE OUTLINE."

  3. Click "Settings" on the row of the course object you would like to edit.

  4. Click the "Access" tab on the left.

  5. Click "Grade."

  6. Type the lowest allowed grade into the "Percentage low" field. For example, 70. Users with a grade lower than this will not be granted access.

  7. Type the highest allowed grade into the “Percentage high” field. For example, 100. Users with a grade higher than this will not be granted access.

  8. Click on the “Grade to check” field select and select either “this course” or a specific quiz. Either the course grade or selected quiz grade will be used for evaluation to allow the user access to the object.

  9. Check the "Hide until grade met" checkbox to keep the object invisible until the learner reaches the required grade.

  10. Check the “Make optional” to make the object optional if the user’s score is between the low and high percentages.

  11. Click "Update" to apply settings.

  12. Click "Save outline" to save the changes.
